Cha Cha |
The Cha Cha is a dance to enjoy and be somewhat flirty or playful with. The dance position is slightly less than arm's length apart to give enough room to allow the knees to bend without bumping them into your partner's. All the steps are like Rumba as they are taken by sliding through the ball of the foot first before becoming a flat step. One exception in the Cha Cha is on the "&" count the heel shouldn't lower since this is a very quick step. Also, when rocking back into the 2 count, the heel is not necessary since it can slow you down. Being a Latin dance, the Cha Cha should have a good bit of hip wiggling involved. By letting the knees bend some, you will start to see a light wiggle. As you progress, more technical components will help wiggling increase.
