Rumba

The Rumba should be danced a little less than arms length away from your partner to give you enough space to bend your knees without bumping them into your partner's. All steps should be danced small and tight sliding through the ball of the foot first and then settling into the heel. This dance can be sharp and dramatic, or smooth and sexy depending on the dancer's interpretation of the music. The Rumba is a versatile dance and depending on the music the dancer may start with a walking step on 1 for the slow count, or to the side on 1 for the Quick count (as shown in the animations and written below). Either method is correct and the footwork is the same once you get the dance started.
