Tango |
The Tango should be danced very closely if not using body contact with your partner. All forward steps should be danced through the heel and backward steps through the toes. Side steps should be taken with the inside edge of the whole foot. When dancing Tango, you should always keep the knees bent to help create a sneaky and more dramatic look. Unlike Foxtrot or Waltz, there is no rise or lift in the Tango giving it a very unique look and feel. The man should have a more commanding look while the lady more submissive. The walking steps should have good strides (although this is difficult in the beginning), and the side steps are shorter. This dance will travel a good deal, but can easily curve around small dance floors as long as you are moving counter-clockwise around the room (as you always should in traveling dances).
