Waltz

The Waltz is a dance of grace, poise, and elegance. This dance should be less than arms length apart in not using body contact. Steps are dance by softening into the knees on the 1 and on the 4 giving us a sinking feeling. We lift back up during the 2 and 5, and settle back into the knees on 3 and 6. Forward steps should be danced through the heel and back steps through the toes. Side steps on the toes, and when we bring our feet together we settle into a flat foot. If done correctly, the result should be a similar feeling to that of the ocean waves. For those who catch on quickly, this box should turn to toward the left during the side steps. If you can work this into your footwork, then you should start to feel a touch of elegance in your dancing.
