First Dance Preparation

On your very first lesson your instructor will listen to your music, choose the best dance or dances that fit the music and your personal style and within 5 minutes you'll be dancing the night away. Your instructor will customize the dance to fit your learning ability, time availability to learn the dance and degree of exuberance to fit your needs and preferences. Whether you want to look like you've been dancing with the stars or just want to do more than clutch and sway, Fred Astaire Charlotte can help you get there.

Social Dance Preparation

We have found that most wedding receptions features a similar genre of music. This being the case, we can easily plan the dances that you will need to learn for your reception. Our wedding preparation consists of learning only 4 dances to give you almost total social comfort: Swing, Rumba, Cha Cha, and Waltz. By focusing on these 4 core dances, your instructor can avoid spending time on dances that you will not use like Polka or Tango, giving you the most value for your time. Of course, every DJ and band has a different play list, and we always recommend having the list available so the instructor can review and plan the best dances to teach, although the list is not mandatory. All of this will help you learn the dances that you will use to make sure you don't have to sit out because you don't know how to dance ever again.

Receptions And Party Events

Our studio is the perfect place to hold your wedding reception or private party.  Choosing the right venue is one of the most important factors in planning your special event.  For over 50 years, Fred Astaire has been a favorite location.  If your party includes dancing, look no further.  Our beautiful wooden dance floor is one of the largest in the area and will have your guests dancing all night long!
